BTE Devices (behind the ear devices)

Using a conventional tube that runs down the front of the ear, the electronics of the hearing aids lie behind the ear with a behind-the-ear (BTE) design. Sitting in the ear, it has a custom-made mold on one end. If you're having problems inserting or removing your aid, or if you require additional power, we may suggest these.

Invisible-In-The-Canal (IIC) or Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC)

Completely inserted in the canal These tiny, custom-fit hearing aids are incredibly unobtrusive because they sit deep within the ear canal. If you're worried about how the hearing aid will look, we might suggest these alternatives.

Similar to custom-made earplugs, in-the-canal (ITC) or in-the-ear (ITE) devices sit at the opening of the ear canal and are somewhat larger. If you're having problems inserting or removing your aid, or if you require additional power, we may suggest these.

RIC (receiver-in-the-canal)

Most of the RIC aid's electronics are located behind the ear, and a thin wire runs behind the ear to the speaker, which is located inside the ear. A dome or a personalized tip can be attached to the end that rests in the ear. Because they sit so subtly on the ear and are suitable for many different kinds of hearing loss, these are the most popular.
